New web site and forum

Hi,

I know we have a new website and forum, but my google search doesnt pull it up. It brings me to this website and forum.
This forum also seems to be more visited than the new one.
Are there plans to link the two, or make the old one defunct to have one repository for infomation?

What a week in cycling news

First Birnam Girmay beats MVDP and promptly knocks himself out of the Giro with a Prosecco cork and now Colin Stricklands Partner is arrested for shooting and killing Moriah Wilson.

You cant make this stuff up.

Re: Greetings

Hi Vince, I agree with James that its an acquired skill and patience is important. If you are world championship level, C ride might be a bit weak for you and frustrating and you will be able to move up almost immediately. You could probably skip a few levels(maybe even skip C:)) I think if you turn...

Re: Liability insurance for non-club rides

CBC insurance covers all affiliated rides: https://cyclingbc.net/membership/insurance/members/ The new ICBC rules are a significant change for us cyclists as basically we now have to personally insure ourselves against everything. ICBC insurance covers very little. Another area that is important is ...

Re: Cycling BC Board

This was a subject of interest when I was on the Board. At the time, the focus of the organization was felt to be in other areas though and, as such, we elected to direct the organization to use its resources in those areas as opposed to this area. This may have changed over the last few years. I do ...

Cycling BC Board

Hi Folks, Despite COVID, this time of year presents AGMs and Board elections. Cycling BC Board elections will be taking place as you are probably aware. When I was elected to the Board about 5 years ago, we set about rebuilding the organization and employed the current Executive Director, Erin Waugh...

Re: Group Riding during covid

Thanks Martin and the executive for your guidance and well reasoned approach. The unfortunate thing about the COVID pandemic is that, from a medical point of view, there is very little science yet to back up any decisions and, as such, this is very much a political as well as a public health problem...

Re: Looking for input on weight loss from riding.

Rob, if you are dropping weight and dont intend to, its probably worth going to see your GP to make sure there isnt another underlying reason.

Otherwise just be happy you can beat us heavier folks up the hills even more:)

Re: covid-19 and group rides

FWIW, I think the risk to the average Tripleshot rider is very small. If you are sick or have symptoms, stay at home. If you ride, maintain social distancing and wash your hands. Dont hug or kiss each other. Be pragmatic and dont panic. Get outdoors and enjoy riding in small groups if you can. Buy c...

Re: displaying number plates and bike racks

it seems like an impossible task:
Cant have a bike rack with bikes on without obscuring the number plate, cant get a copy number plate to put it on the bike rack where it might be seen.
So basically you cant use a bike rack and stay within the law....
