MEC is really good about replacing defective items. I had 2 Mitycross 350's fail on me. First time I exchanged it for a replacement. Second time they gave me a refund.Lister Farrar wrote:Might be. My cygolight stopped working, and depending on what mec says, might need something else.

Re: Tough day at Ironman
Sorry to hear about the crash Chris. I was following your progress online and when the splits stopped coming I figured something was up. Sounds like you had a good race going, which it makes it that much more disappointing. A friend had a similar incident last year. His race ended after someone turn...

Re: group riding - lights and fenders - recommendations
I used the strap on Freddy Fenders from MEC when I only had one bike. Worked great and easy to take off pre-ride if you see dry roads. Only downside I found was that they flopped around a bit when I added the crap flap, so choose your flap materials carefully if you got that route. Went to permanent...

Al, why have you not posted your name yet? - That is okay, I will post it for you! Hey Mike. Have I ever mentioned how considerate you are? No.....? Unfortunately, the cold I picked up in July is still hanging on and seems to have taken up permanent residence in my lungs. Currently on a no riding o...

What you've achieved in what seems to be a short period of time is truly impressive.

Re: Summer Gear Order
Josh told me this morning that they waived the minimums on our last order, so include them and we'll try that route again. I'll have to sort it out with each of you if it doesn't go through but we'll give it a try. Ack! Forgot to check the forum before bed last night. I only ordered accessories, so...

Geoff,
Would it be correct to assume the accessories are a no-go?

Re: Caleb pike july 6 - race report
I rode out to watch but after a gentle prodding from Kevin, I decided to have a go. First race of the year for me, so the goal was to hang on as long as possible and try and finish without getting lapped. The "coffee pace" was a blessing and allowed me to hang on to the main group a lot lo...

Re: Caleb pike july 6
I'm going to ride out and may race as well. In order to avoid the highway and the associated detritis and safety issues, Kevin and I are going to take the Goose to Atkins, then head up Selwyn to the lights south of the Millstream overpass. Will probably take a little longer than the normal route up ...

Ditto to that. If you want hills or pints of beer from the corner store, Gatineau was the place to go. Great riding through there. I remember the ride down from the lookout on Promenade Champlain was pretty sweet.

Re: The Victoria Gran Fondo - Saturday June 25th.
Thanks for the reports and congrats to the intrepid TS'ers who took on the challenge.
This is a ride that I want to do, but the logistics have been a bit of a concern. (specifically: the fear of having a mechanical in the middle of nowhere). Will have to put this on my list for next year.

ok, a dumb question, but I just want to verify what I am getting.
The leg warmers and shoe covers I've ordered will be the black ones shown below, correct?

Re: Bike maintenance help
I had creaking problems on my winter bike as well. Replacing the BB did not resolve the problem. Turned out to be the seat post. A bit of grease eliminated the problem.
Note that if either the frame or post is carbon, I believe friction paste is the recommended solution.

Geoff,
