Re: Tour de Victoria

Here they are prior to the start. As I drove one of the broom wagons, I was glad not to see any of them after the roll out.

Neoprene vs ThermaShield jacket

While it seems inappropriate to think about winter wear when the weather is this nice, I applaud the early organization of the Fall kit order. Can anyone provide a quantitative assessment between the neoprene winter jacket and the ThermaShield jacket (i.e., you have both and can provide an actual co...

Re: Police and Hollywood Crescent

Can anyone recall any negative interactions with the locals along Hollywood? It's probably that guy that lives at the corner of Robertson and H. Cres. - he's a really grumpy bugger!! Seriously though, I'll talk to a few neighbours, at least one of whom has who has previously expressed concern, alth...

Re: Seat Selection

I suppose if one were to rank all of the suggestions on the basis of km/week, one might choose whatever Mark Ford says and be done with it! I have a Specialized Romin Evo that works for me. Most of their saddles come in four widths, so you should be able to find one that works. Keep in mind that Spe...

Road Plate on Hollywood Crescent

Watch out for the road plate on Hollywood Crescent. It is at the last right hand turn just before the top of Ross Bay. Hopefully the Tuesday morning coffee-bound group did not run afoul.

Re: Tour of Victoria

Well it sounds like I missed an awesome ride around the peninsula. Congratulations to all that finished. I crashed on Happy Valley Road - the guy right in front of me hit the curb and there was no place to go except down. His nice Wilier Zero 7 seemed okay, but one of his carbon bottle cages ended u...

Re: wanted: Wall mount repair stand

That's a nice stand, but list is $339. I was looking at something similar now that things are getting grimy, but for the same price you could do the same thing with One of these http://www.mec.ca/product/5009-675/swagman-xp-spare-cradle/?h=10+50002&f=10+50002+50017 $31.00 One of these http://www...

I am not very creative…

....when it comes to naming my bikes. Having duly followed Rule #12, I have two road bikes. One is a white aluminum Rocky Mountain Oxygen 10, which on Strava, I creatively refer to as Rocky, in order to differentiate it from my black plastic bike, a Kuota Kebel, which with equal creativity, I have n...

Road Plate on Hollywood Crescent - BEWARE!

They have just installed a new road plate on Hollywood Crescent about 200m from the left hand turn at Gonzales Bay. I would provide this information in person tomorrow, but if my recent participation is anything to go by, I will only be a passive participant, watching you all ride by from the comfor...

Re: Fall 2012 Kit Order

Hugh and Geoff, thanks for setting this up. If anyone is thinking of ordering a longsleeved windjacket (the one Barton likes, apparently), I ordered a Medium the last go round and it is too big for me. Other than trying it on, it is unworn. If you are considering ordering a Large, let me know and ho...
