Re: Stats for the Hills Feb 3

Roland,

Good job on the commute - will you do that again after you are released from the ward - you know the one with all that extra padding!

Re: Stats for the Hills Feb 3

10x Tolmie? BY CHOICE! That is indicative of a secret hyperbaric chamber and a serious psychological condition. I thought this was a coffee club; but with Saturday death marching, and Wednesday ascension, the Easter Egg vibe is getting a bit cultish (how is that for layered interpretive speech) I we...

Absolutely correct. The fast guys sure don't get the quality workout those of us at the back of the train look forward to on every ride! They probably couldn't handle the effort we put out :P

Re: Saturday AM Race Training Ride?

So what will the route be? Waterfront to the peninsula? I ask on the off chance that I am foolish enough to try and meet up with you after you get going from Cook St. as I really don't think I will be on the bike early enough to meet you there.

Re: Saturday AM Race Training Ride?

So, I just got in from the Sunday AM ride (yea, I cut it short because I am weak) and am about to leave for the Cobble HIll 10k when I decide to read the forum. Colin, I am laughing my head off (while I silently agree with you regarding wattage output). I think that will give me an extra 10" pe...

A few Thoughts (ok, call it whining)

All, I am not usually one to express an opinion, given my introverted personality, but I would like to make a couple of brief comments for general consideration. I really like the rides and the format we have set up - I think it lends itself well to both good exercise and a fair bit of fun too. Howe...

Gear Exchange - Trade

All,

I purchased a Large LS Women's Jersey and Large Women's Winter Jacket for my Wife and have found them to be a little on the (ahem) Large side for her. If anyone ordered a medium and would prefer a large please let me know.

Thanks,

Michael

Josh, Congratulations to you and your family. I guess you will have no excuse for missing any future rides (because you cannot say you were asleep at 5:00am  ). - Boy, I love knowing people with younger kids than mine (insert an image of smug self-satisfaction here). Best wishes on the next...

John,

Your web-site has a flat file - Do all the other websites have to wait for you while the flat is repaired?

Re: Another technical problem

Lister, Replaceable dirt - that is funny. sadly, I do not know how to replace dirt - it appears to me (and from a casual inspection of my bike) that once dirt becomes affixed to the bike it cannot simply be replaced. Perhaps you have a tool or technique that allows you to remove dirt from your bike?...

Re: Another technical problem

I do not understand what this thread is all about. Do you mean you bought a bike with replaceable parts ? I had no idea! SOunds like shoddy manufacturing to me (but then I am no mechanic).

Re: Spectacular bike crashes.........

Too late? That is crazy - Doesn't everyone watch Jon Stewart at 11 and Steven Colbert at 11:30 Mon-Thur? How else do you get the news from a fair and reputable source? Hmmm, I propose that you receive extra bonus points for riding in the morning if you are up after 11 and double points for after 12 ...

Re: Technical advice needed

Whoa, What is all this talk about different pieces - that sounds to me like your bike is broken and you need a new one. I can tell you with certainty that each of my bikes is a single piece - if you have more than 1 piece it is clearly broken and you must purchase a replacement. Don't let the others...

Re: Did anybody order a jacket for their wife/girlfriend?

Roland,

I ordered a Jacket for both wife (XS) and girlfriend (S). (Don't tell either the wife or the girlfriend!)

I am not sure if the change to Women's Cut will mean I need to change the sizes ordered - is there a chart that shows women's jackets?

Thanks,

Michael

Josh,

That is hilarious - I am sitting here at 'work' laughing my head off. I wonder if anyone else can let us know if they could hear crying, screaming, or whimpering during the chase?

There, I believe I have (almost single-handed) saved the hat order - Peter you will be buying one of the winter hats from me! What does that say when I order 7 hats... to get us to the minimum order level of 10! I cannot however, help out with the shoe covers - it will be a bit dodgy surviving this ...

Okay, I have done my part for team and country and have shot into first place on the gear order! We need a couple more caps and shoe covers to make the cut - they look like great presents for kids!
