Re: New Tripleshot Kit unveiling

That's not going to go well with your new bike Neil. I'm not an expert, but pink and red doesn't seem right. And just to be clear... pink isn't the only thing wrong with that option.

Re: used Garmin?

I can help! Tell your dad to run a string (you reminded me of this when you wrote about stringing wires) around his tire, then measure the length of the string with a tape measure. Next, plug that value into the odometer... isn't that how all of you do it?

Re: Mt Washington

If you do it early, or late, in the day, keep an eye out for bears. Also, on the way down test brakes gently at various speeds. Hard on the front brakes at speed, especially if you are shivering, can lead to a high speed wobble that could end very badly. Even pressure on front and back brakes, even ...

unexpected_e-mail

Just got this (below). Good to know that someone was monitoring the Oak Bay Municipality web site. Just funny that the reply arrived so many months later. You might remember that we had a crash that morning that was partly a consequence of the road conditions. Dear JOHN TAYLOR, This email is to info...

I pushed it into a cage on Geoff's bike (at coffee - he might not realize it's there) - thought it was Mandy's.

Quiet

A peloton or pace-line needn't be a cacophony. Let's try not to be so loud when we organize at Oak Bay High, ride along Shelbourne, and assemble at the top of King George, etc. etc. If, for example, the speed isn't fast enough, or is too fast, that info can be shared without yelling from the back al...

Sunday_ride_velodrome?

Hi,

Provincial Track Champions this weekend at the velodrome. Just an idea - we could reroute the Sunday ride in order to watch a race or two.

Re: Cycling laws

I agree with the Court of Appeals on this one. When I pass on the right I do not assume I am in a legal lane.

Frame warranty

Hi everyone, This message should not be interpreted as a criticism of Ridley. I am disappointed but that's all. My Damocles frame has been a 'workhorse' to quote Geoff W. Yesterday Richie from Velofix put it on a stand as the first step in building a new 11-spd/Bontrager Aeolus speed machine (yes - ...

Tour de France

Can anyone share a good site for live streaming of The Tour? In the past steephill.tv seemed to be the place to go, but now most links are country-limited (except the 3-min highlights). The official tour site seems to have a link - anyone registered for live streaming there without trouble?

VCL/BroadStreetCycles_Omnium

Racing news from BroadStreetCycles Broad Street Cycles VCL Omnium! Or should we say ... KOMnium? We've had some weird weather lately, with words like 'rain' and 'Juneuary' being thrown around, so it's time to heat things up with MORE RACING! So, in conjunction with VCL, we're hosting an Omnium. Thi...

Re: Speedway VCL races

Hi everyone, The last TS Speedway Race is this evening. Last chance to race at the speedway and last chance to help out! If possible, I'd like to leave early (to attend the Oak Bay High graduation). It would be great to have someone there that can shut everything down. It's not hard, I can train you...

Re: Adam de Vos wins opening time trial at Joe Martin

I've been curious, but up until now, not curious when I was sitting at a keyboard.

Turns out Adam was second overall in that stage race:
