3 Ferry Ride - Let's do it!

Yes it is on!

The annual TS 3 ferry ride will be held on Sunday, August 9. Due to the current situation, it would be better if everyone brought their own lunch so we can eat in a park on SSI. We will need a support vehicle that would join us at the park in SSI and could carry everyone’s lunch with the club providing extra water, Gatorade, packaged snacks, fruit, etc. The van won't be needed elsewhere on the ride so I'm only looking for a driver to go to Salt Spring and back. I would love to hear from anyone that can drive or has a family member that would drive.

Here’s how the day will look….

There will be the usual Spond sign up (available soon with slowest groups leaving first) and we will roll out in staggered groups from Cook St Starbucks at 7:00. We will then catch the 9:00 ferry to Salt Spring. There are no special restrictions limiting the number of cyclists on the ferry, but everyone must have a mask and wear it if they cannot keep 2 meters apart. Each Spond leader needs to purchase the ferry tickets for all members in a group and the club will reimburse them.

We will roll thru Ganges and at the turnoff to the Vesuvius ferry, there is a park where we can meet the van and have lunch. There are washroom facilities there. The Vesuvius ferry is at 12:05. The Mill Bay sailings are at 2:25 and 3:35 depending on how speedy your group is.

Please add your name if you are interested in joining so I can get an idea of the amount of interest for the ride and how many Spond groups to set up.
And remember this it is conditional upon finding a driver!

Unfortunately, August 9th is the day I arrive back from seeing my son in Calgary.i hope you have a great ride. I always enjoy it no matter the weather.

From August 10th, I would be willing to organize a midweek alternative 3 ferries, especially for us older folk. The only cost for that is $2 for your bike on the Mill Bay ferry (assuming you're 65 or older). Let me know if you would be interested. Thursdays are best for me but Tuesdays could work too. Younger riders would be most welcome. The costs would be a bit more for them.
