Friday, February First - 5:55 From Fort

In order to get that precious 15-minute jump, I'm leaving at 6:00 a.m. sharpish from Fort and Richmond, and 6:15 from Shelbourne and Feltham. We'll enjoy a new way to skirt Mount Douglas before heading west through some of upper Quadra and back to coffee via the Goose and a spin round Beacon Hill, if time allows.

Here's a precisely imprecise route:

In keeping with a growing pattern, this will likely be a less pokey, somewhat speedier cross ride. 8)

Couple of notes from this morning:
  1. Thanks for getting up a few minutes early and putting up with the alternate meet-up. As it turns out, we made better time than I'd hoped and hit the Inner Harbour at 7:09, allowing a toddle in Beacon Hill. In the future we could start that ride with a regular B-train up Shelbourne, get in an extra lap in the trees instead of BHP, and still comfortably make coffee.
  2. Rob: I hope you feel better. I missed your departure, but it didn't sound like you were feeling so hot.
  3. Pace: in order to make weekday cross rides attractive to all, we've seen a pattern emerging of a more welcoming pace on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (come-one-come-all rides that can explore and take a few more risks of dead-ends :oops: ) and then the pace ticking upward on Fridays where we try to keep the ride more of a workout. Please share any comments you have about this: supportive, critical etc. 8)

You know me Rolf, I just go with the flow. If as a flexible rule, that flow runs a bit faster on Friday's I see no reason to grumble. Feels good to let'r loose sometimes,
