A nice early steady ride on Saturday (a.k.a. Sufferfest *TM)

Post by Claire »

Cook St Sbux 6:03 roll out this Saturday for a steady 100k and done by 9. Two weeks ago we had seven and all but one made it back. Them's pretty good odds, right? More is merrier. Post here or just show up. No maybes. Partial tagalongs are welcome. Pace winter-friendly B1-ish.

For safety's sake I am going to Rolf this ride ( go back to bed ). With ice on the side of our street and the threat of rain that might freeze upon contact, the Sufferfest will have to be postponed for another day.

Barton and I saw your message this morning Andrew and decided that we had to go for an Andrew (try to ride in lieu of Andrew). That was a mistake on my part.....

Mikael ..... you have been verbalized ( see Barton's thread ) and there was no need to be nervous!

I would have to warn you about "going for an Andrew"; it invites unpredictable and varied forms of peril and unpleasantness including road rash, battered equipment, soiled clothing, concerned looks from passersby and a rumbly tummy.

All in all though it's great fun. Have a good weekend!

I probably should have 'Rolf'ed this morning. Instead I headed out just after 6:00 to try and intercept the sufferfest, but must have been behind. There was a fair amount of frost, which made the downhills and curves a little nerve wracking, but managed to stay upright. On Ash, halfway between the bottom of the hill and the park, my bike shimmied from the frost and I turned and went back, carefully. Still, it was good to be out, and hopefully that's the last of the winter frost/ice.

While we're verbing people, is "Claire-ing" a ride when you call a Sufferfest on Thursday night and then skip it with no forum update? It sounds like Rolfing this morning was definitely the sensible choice, but for someone who doles out a hefty proportion of our forum's trash-talk, I'm surprised noone's taken a poke at the maven of Saturday suffering!

I think Claireing is exercising an economy of words.

(...and occasional grammatical nitpicking: we are verbizing our names as it would be impossible to verbalize in typing)
