Hello TSers, a "Let's Ride" coaching course will be offered here in Victoria on March 8/9. This is targeted for the community level coach (maybe a good fit for those involved with school bike clubs??). Looking for 4 to 7 more participants. We've already got 7 awesome leaders signed up to acquire certification as a coach for this spring's 3rd annual women's road riding clinic!
Let’s Ride! Community Cycling- Initiation (CCI) is the NCCP context for coaches who will primarily work with novice, pre-competitive cyclists at the community level, including participants in the Active Start, FUNdamentals and early Learn to Train stages of athlete development. The program is simple, based on a number of pre-designed lesson plans, and adaptable to the varying skill and ability levels of participants. The focus of the program is on having participants develop skills which are basic to MTB, BMX, and Road, in a controlled, off-road, off-trail setting such as a sport field or parking lot.
Cost is $170/person for the 2 days.
Please contact me if you are interested or have any questions.
Happy pedaling, Jen

Here's a link to the course on Cycling BC's site this coming weekend:
http://cyclingbc.net/coaching/news/vict ... nitiation/
Glenowyn Carlson & Jeff Ain will be co-facilitating the course to gain their certification status as instructors.
There are 12 people registered to date so still a few spots left if anybody is interested.
Broad Street Cycles has been generous to offer the room below the shop to host the course.
Cheers, Jen
