Possible. I missed usual Wednesday Farming due to binge-rewatching Breaking Bad S05 before the final season starts this weekend.

I know: my priorities are immaculate.

So, 6:30 Departure from Douglas/Alpha Starbucks? That sounds 'fun' - and since I cannot play with the Hornet cars this evening maybe I will give a Thursday morning ride a go...unless I sleep in.

Perfect, 6:30 a.m. Douglas/Alpha Bucky's for the Prospect Loop (Josh's Hammerfest, but no hammerhead action tomorrow).

I saw Sylvan just after the crash (at speed, but with another cyclist going in the same forward direction) and then he caught up with us at post-ride coffee. He didn't seem that bad, physically, but I'll let him fill in the blanks. He was displaying his usual slurred speech and confusion, which I'd identify as symptoms of concussion in anyone else, but I think he's fine.

Every time I see splintered carbon fibre, I go "Huh."

Thanks for letting me suck wheels today, guys. I felt horrible most of the ride, but I was very happy to make it out. I have some hazy, pain-filled memories of golden sunshine on farmland.

I'm good. Sore, minor road rash, nothing big.

Bike is completely destroyed, except for the majority of the gruppo which was going on a new frame anyway. Frame destroyed, chainset destroyed, one shoe ripped clean open, helmet cracked.

Anyone have a recommendation of a shop in town that will do a good job and won't spit in my soup if I bring in a frame and bunch of Internet parts to get a couple of bikes built up out of it? I was kind of planning on doing most of it myself but it's all a bit inconvenient right now.

Now we feel bad that we bad-mouthed you for calling a 6:30 meeting and not showing up.

Haha, Josh told me about that. I've done that before without crashing so I deserved it. The bad-mouthing, not the crash. Little rat bastard son of a rat bastard.

Bugger had hung a hard left and was going 90 degrees across the traffic lane when I whacked into him (at 46.7 km/h said the Garmin).

Jeez. I'm glad I opted for a ride to New Westminster via Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen[1] instead. I wasn't that far up the road from you, Sylvan. Hope you're well soon.

David Brown could probably be persuaded to build your bike up for you if you want, for a Very Reasonable Fee.

[1] Just discovered the 64th St underpass beneath Highway 99 at the Delta Works Yard. That thing is going to add years to my lifespan and drop many dollars from my hair colouring bill. So very happy. Almost makes up for totally missing the onramp to the Alex Fraser Bridge's pedestrian/bike lanes and being forced onto it in the traffic lanes until I could find a convenient place to chuck the bike and myself over the barrier. Garmin battery near death. OCD-me feels so compelled to chronicle this entire stupid journey that I'll have to put the Strava app on my phone for the trip home tonight.
