TT bikes and wheels to borrow for BC Champs Aug 11

Post by Lister Farrar »

The juniors (that are in town) are all riding the BC Championships August 11 in Abbotsford; Taylor, David, Chris, and Duncan.

Taylor, Chris and Duncan just set personal bests on last Tuesday night, and are training specifically for the provincials.

Taylor is 2nd junior in the season standings at 25:37 , David in third at 26:11, Duncan fourth at 26:44, and Chris second cadet at 27:58. http://www.sidneyvelo.ca/12Results.htm

David has a tt bike, but the others do not. Anyone feel like loaning theirs for a couple of rides at the Sidney TT and the provincial championships? I will be attending the championships and can offer supervision of the bikes and any position adjustments. And a nice cleaning if you like. :)

I can't do this sunday or the prov TT, so mine is available, with race wheels, helmet too.
The day I quit is the day I die, and probably not even then.

Thanks very much Dylan. Yours should fit Chris or Taylor. Both are 6'+. Can we stop by on the weekend or Monday to check it out?

Got bikes for Taylor, and Chris for provincials. David has one. Just need a 52 or 54 for Duncan. Duncan's careful with his bikes, and progressing every tt he does. 4th fastest in Sidney this year Among the juniors. I can manage the bike if you prefer. Thanks!

Duncan can borrow my cervelo and my enve carbon race wheels if it'll fit him. The frame is an older p2k 55cm (you know the one), but it's got easton attack carbon bars and sram RTC shifters on it.

I also have a wheelbuilders.com aerojacket wheel cover for the back enve that makes it a disc. He can take that too, but not sure if it'll be allowed in a provincial TT as it's not UCI legal. I know several state cycling federations have a specific exemptions for the fairing rule for wheel covers, as they provide no specific advantage over a disc wheel, so it may be worth asking cyclingbc.

Thanks josh. It never rains but it pours. Jenn just got back to me with hers for Duncan. Do you think it would fit Chris? He's around 6' +

I'm around 6'0, but I have freakishly long legs and a short torso, so I tend to ride smaller frames with the seat way up high, as I need the shorter top tube to get the reach right. It may fit him though. Luke rode it at Sidney last week, and i think he's about 6'0 or 6'1.

he can definitely give it a try.

If there's time, could I pick up for Chris to try tonight?

Or if there are any tall guys out there with less freakish proportions (chris is about average arm and length) could we maybe borrow yours?
