TTT and ITT Champs - time to Harden Up!

Post by Plawless »

Ok TSC what the heck? Only TWO from our club are signed up and NO teams... how can that be?

Lets get this friking thing going. Our club ROCKS and has been overrepresented at every TTT in the past 2 years so what's the holdup? Plus this nice short 20k is a perfect opportunity to practice for the big one on Aug 21st!

Team 1 - Moose, Mat, Flounder, Josh (Peter as possible alternate)
Team 2 - Brenna, Jen??, Gleno??, Minda??
Team 3 - David B, Evan, Duncan, Liam (BUT GET REGISTERED!!)
Team 4 - YOU! plus You, you and YOU!

Get some names up on the Board. If you are interested say so and lets do this!

Anyone up for the TTT (women’s citizen category)???

Disclaimer: I have no experience with time trials whatsoever (aside form a little practice last Friday with the junior boys and whatever I could find out on youtube) ….But I think it could be fun. So if you are:

a) as much of a newbie as I am but want to give it a shot, or
b) slightly more savvy/experienced but don’t mind my lack thereof

then please let me know!

Thanks,
Vanessa

PS if you’re unsure who I am, I ride in the second B group or in C, have a blue Devinci and usually have old socks on my arms.

Sounds like a worthy follow on to this summer's "Adam Project". We can either raise money to buy Vanessa some proper merino-wool arm warmers, or donate more old socks. :P

Barton's not available. He just dropped off some kit for the jrs, and said he's busy with his kids Saturday.

John T and I, and possibly Lister are on for sure for an old-guys TT squad for the 21st. We plan on putting together the ultimate combination of grey hair and strong legs to kick some ass, because with the handicap rules you get hammered by the 60 year olds who only need to stay upright to win.

What we need is a few more 45+ male volunteers to round out the team. Maybe Eric P? Steve? Barton? Dave S? Send me a note (cassels@uvic.ca) or show up on Friday with your ID--for proof of your middle-age status-- as we intend to start practicing our killer tactics on morning rides with some loops of the university.

HI Alan,

I'm 48, grey and balding, with spare tire built-in and I think I can get permission to race the race of truth with you old dogs. I'll be out tomorrow (Friday) so we can talk then.

Alan and I are 48 this year. There must be a way to incorporate this into a team name.

Remember when the Tripleshot TT teams had names based on variations of moose? Like the L'alce Elegante was the Elegant Moose, etc. Well, how about "L'alce grigio veloce" translates to: The grey fast moose, or something like that...

I'm 48 this year as well. Not much for powerful legs and have lost my hair but I've got lots of heart. If you need an extra to round out the numbers...
