Good, fast ride this morning. Just what the doctor ordered for Race the Ridge next week.
Dylan and Roland attacked up Ash, so I followed, then rolled around at the top and kept the pace going. The three of us got reeled in by Bob and a chase group behind Uvic. Shawn joined in soon after, coming off doing caddy bay repeats, and threw in a nice attack up caddy bay. We kept the pace pretty solid and high after that.
Dylan went off the front over king george, and we brought him back off the other side.
Ended up getting whittled down to 5 by the end of the beacon laps. Mr "Race himself fit" Rabien won the sprint.
Anybody have a Garmin this morning? I had my HRM on, but only looked at it once at the top of the hill by the Oak bay hotel. 174 bpm. No doubt it was higher than that during the beacon laps.

I wasn't aware that was an attack, I was just matching Dylan's pace.Josh.E wrote:Dylan and Roland attacked up Ash

Good? fast? ride? I think I'm in the hate-you-all camp. First Brian lets the gap open at the top of Ash, (not that I had legs to close it, but damn it, can't you read my mind Brian?) Then teased back on by the descent, start to crack on Gordon Head road, then Bob C comes by and prolongs my agony by offering his wheel, and then selfishly easing when I gasped 'steady', which forced me to cling on until Queen Alexandra, where we got back on. Just in time to blow spectacularly (smoke and feathers everywhere) on Caddy Bay. At which point I decided to wait for Brian and Quentin (whew). We had a pretty good ride after that.
Seriously, Bob really stretched his chase by waiting and he got me back on. There might have been someone else, but I didn't have the o2 to look back. Thx (i think) Bob.
