The 2022 kit store is now closed. A record number of members ordered kit, including 232 jerseys, 115 shorts/tights, and 51 jackets/vests. Even with our many volume discounts and the club discounts of 15/40%, our total order exceeds $40,000. We can’t wait to see Carey’s beautiful designs flooding Victoria’s roads and trails over the next few years!

Your pre-order on the Jakroo site should now be marked Pending Approval and your payment should go through soon once the final prices are determined. A note on the Vapor wind vests: Jakroo had several technical issues and this item periodically disappeared from our store over the past two weeks. If you ordered it, it should still appear in your pre-order but the price may not reflect the applicable volume discount. The adult vest was regular price $226 but we had over 30 orders, reducing it by 40% to $136 before applying the 15% club discount and adding tax. We should all end up paying only $129 for our adult wind vests.

The club made some strategic purchases of a few items and we have a small amount of stock to sell (see pic). We chose items that were near volume thresholds to ensure member orders could enjoy substantial volume discounts. You can find a dynamic (ie. up to date) spreadsheet of those items and instructions on how to order them at this link.

We are working through a few final design-proof issues with Jakroo. We expect production of the order to start this week and delivery around the beginning of September. The order will all be shipped to a member home (thank you Ron & Heidi!) where a small army of volunteers will sort and put your orders together for pickup. This will have collectively saved us over a thousand bucks! Stay tuned for pickup timing and location details.

We are so grateful to Carey Newman for sharing his gifts and giving us a new visual identity that acknowledges both the Indigenous Peoples on whose traditional territories we ride and Tripleshot’s heritage. To honour Carey (and with his input), the club will donate $1,000 to an Indigenous-led team in this year’s Tour de Cure cycling fundraiser. The funds will go towards improving the cancer experience for Indigenous patients and families while they are receiving care at BC Cancer. This includes direct supports for Indigenous cancer patients while they receive care, and working with Indigenous communities and artists to make cultural safety capital improvements to BC Cancer facilities.

Finally, a huge thank you again to board member Justine Johnson for the HUGE amount of hours she continues to put into this enormous undertaking!

Members should start to see their orders appearing on their credit card statements.

JAKROO UPDATE on Vapor AS All Weather Wind Vest orders. —— Jakroo is discontinuing production of this item, *after* filling our order. But removing it from their online system led to a technical glitch meaning that the 30-odd people who ordered the Wind Vest will pay $181 (ie. the 2-5 volume discount price) when their order payment goes through. Within a couple of business days, they will see an automatic refund on their payment cards for the difference with the actual volume discounted price of $136. Note: these prices do not include any upgrade charges for a reflective pocket and do not include the 15% Club discount and applicable taxes.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your order or your payment, please contact Jakroo directly at either info@jakroo.ca or john@jakroo.ca.

A little update on delivery of your new kit, which has now arrived in Victoria!

All 160 orders of 514 total pieces were sent to one member's home. Tomorrow (Sept. 7), a small army of volunteers will begin the daunting task of sorting all these pieces into individual orders. It's unclear how many sorting sessions this process will take but we'll get pickup date, time, location, and info out to members as soon as we're in a position to do so.

Some background: Jakroo would have charged every member a flat-rate shipping fee of $35 to have orders sent to members' homes, regardless of order volume. So the club instead elected to pay the shipping cost of $1,000 (for 220 lbs by air-courier from China on a rush basis, inclusive of all landing taxes and duties) — a pretty significant member benefit!

The club's payment of shipping and the time and effort of our amazing sorting volunteers will have collectively saved our members $5,600. We hope that knowledge will help with exercising a little more patience this week and maybe next!
