Tripleshot Rides the Hurricane - Sunday, Aug. 14
Posted: Tue Aug 02, 2022 11:19 pm
The club's annual trip to Hurricane Ridge is on Sunday August 14. Look for a Spond event coming your way over the next day.
If you've never enjoyed this road cycling classic, it involves catching the first Coho to Port Angeles from the Inner Harbour before riding a gentle grade at your own pace for around 32 km until you're a mile in the sky (1,598m). A few level stretches let you shake out the legs and the view just keeps getting better and better! The descent is 45 minutes of sheer glee and if you take the earlier boat back (12:45), you can be riding home from the Inner Harbour by 2:30 p.m.
It may sound intimidating, but every single member of Tripleshot Cycling can complete this ride. And when you ride along Dallas Road in the future you'll never look at the Olympic Mountains the same way again.
The club will offer vehicle support for biomechanical assistance, stashed bags, and a sag wagon for any unrecoverable technical issues. More details in the ride event coming your way soon.
