Dear Roland (and Ann, John D., Martin, and the two other people who will ever see this, now that the forum is a barren wasteland, evoking those parts of the Aussie outback used to film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome):

Immediately adjacent to this, your post in the racing sub-forum, you will find the following post, which answers your question in some detail: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=9449

From John Taylor:

Race Schedule (Tues., July 27th, 2021)
5:30 pm Sign-in starts
6:00 pm C Race 20 min + 5
6:30 pm B Race 25 min + 5
7:15 pm A Race 30 min + 5

Important Notes:

1. If this is your first VCL race of 2021, please read & sign a waiver. No waiver necessary for Triple Shot Club members.
2. Please register on the correct form (A, B, or C) and pay ($10).
3. Obtain a race number that must be returned.

Restrictions

No fixed-wheels, no fully enclosed wheels, no fenders. Abusive language results in disqualification.  Not kidding

Race Protocol:

Counter or white board at start/finish reports minutes completed. Pay attention as the value approaches the maximum (which varies depending upon your group).

Then it reports laps down from 5. For example, when we reach the time limit, we switch to 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Listen for the bell/whistle/alarm indicating one lap to go.

If the bell is rung accidentally, it triggers last lap, regardless of the lap number (it happened once). Also, you might not see ‘20’

If the field includes two or more riders that are a lap (or more) ahead, the field will finish first (first bell) and the leaders will finish one lap after the second bell. Free

Lap (for mishap) not given during the last 5 laps.

If you are being lapped hold your line. Do not swerve to get out of the way of passing racers. They have picked their passing line, don't take it away from them.

Coaching: Coaches must pull out with 5 laps to go. One coach per club for B race and the B race coach may not enter the A race. Coaches cannot pull the pack up to a break-away but may help struggling racers hold on to the peloton, catch back up to the peloton, and they may ‘motor-pace’ a rider off the back.

Have fun!
