Time to start thinking about this:

We should ride the Bear Mountain climb and maybe the Sooke road race course as a group before May 28th.
My kids loved the Tim Bits race two years ago.

I think we should get a plan together for the Sooke Road Race. Cat 4 & Citizen are together. How many people are going to race it? If we could get 6 or 8 people together I think we could control the race.
Bear Mountain is fun, not as painful as Doug.
Bastion Square is also fun, but too chaotic to run much team tactics. It's all about positioning in the last 2 corners.

Team tactics could help us to position a few people for the last few corners of the crit. Also, though I don't want to mess up this thread, it's just occurred to me to remind people that there's a Victoria Cycling League race in two days! No rest for the wicked.
Back to the Robert Cameron Series; the early registration date/deadline is May 7th.

Check out the Bear Mountain Hill Climb page

That guy in the black and red kit looks familiar. He also appears at 0:50 in the embedded video....

I'd be into doing the Sooke road race, but in my case I use the word "race" loosely. If any of you other Tripleshot B's wanna ride it with me that would be awesome.

That website is terrible! Check this link out:
http://www.victoria-cycling.com/index.html and tell me whether the hill climb is up Bear Mountain or Mount Doug?

I'm in for the Sooke to Jordan river ride/race. My son Evan won the 5 year old race two years ago and talks about it to this day. I'm sure he will be racing that Sunday and I'd love to put him in a really small TSC jersey - be nice to see a good showing of kids out there!

I'm in for the road race and perhaps all three events (I'll decide by end of next week).

Just to echo John's original post, we should do the hill climb and Sooke ride together as a group. The event is only 3 1/2 weeks away
Perhaps we could do the Sooke ride on a Saturday morning (i.e. hammerfest on a different route). When would be a good time do climb Bear Mountain? Maybe even tomorrow (Wednesday) night, since the race is cancelled...

Jeremy, I'd be up for a slower-paced road race, but I think we'd need at least 2 other people if not 4 others to make it enjoyable. Where are the Easter Egg Bees hiding?

I am interested in the road race as well. I just completed my first road race in Mill Bay/Duncan last weekend with the Master's Series. It was a blast!
There was some chatter about riding the course before race day. How about Sunday May 23? We could maybe ride out to the turn around as a group then boot it back to Sooke? Or a long ride close to 100 K on a Sunday before the race from the usual Fairfield start?
Anyway, checking out the course or going extra long on a Sunday would be best for me.
Sounds like there will be a good showing of Triple Shot Easter Eggs!

I want to encourage all the women to sign up as well, for Bastion Square at least. The last two years the Women's Cat 4 race has been cancelled due to low numbers. There are 5 - 7 women coming out the VCL each week, so it should be possible to round up a decent number for Bastion Square.
This is a very fun race, there is no other opportunity to race downtown.
I assume Jen, Rita, Glenowyn, Katie and Macry are all going to race. Plus the 5 that usually show up. Plus we round up another 5 and that's 15. Enough for a good race.
