Solo Solstice Scavenger Scramble
Posted: Sat Dec 19, 2020 1:21 pm
7:00 to 10:30 a.m.
Sunday, December 20, 2020
Celebrate the darkest day of the year with an *unofficial* alleycat-style, Solo Solstice Scavenger Scramble. No sign-up or gravel bikes required! (But you do need to already be signed up for Tripleshot's Spond site — and 2020 memberships are no longer available. Sorry!)
Instructions:
1. Go to the relevant Spond Post on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 7:00 a.m. and get the link to a Google map with destination markers. (See sample map below; map is subject to change!)
2. Ride to as many destinations as you can. Capture a "proof-photo" of Tripleshot kit in front of each spot. Photos embedded in the map will demonstrate the intended view. See sample proof-photos below.
3. Take your final photo before 10:30 a.m. Then either (a) email all your photos to tripleshot.cycling.photos@gmail.com, or (b) post your photos in the comments below the Spond post. Photos will count for the draw if received or posted before NOON.
Each photo you email or post will enter you into a draw for prizes. Destinations marked in blue on the map are worth one entry, purple are worth two, red are three, and black are worth five (5) entries!
Prizes will be randomly selected and given out during the Tripleshot Awards Zoom to be held the same Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. (see recent Club email from Martin for Zoom details.) You must attend the Zoom to claim your prize. There may be prizes for the rider with the most entries and other acts of stupidity—e.g. hitting all the black destinations; hunting by unicycle etc.
And now for the fine print. Please only ride with members of your household and be respectful of everyone you meet. Enjoy seeing your fellow members out there, but please do not gather. This is not an official Tripleshot ride. I'm not providing route suggestions and your rides will not be covered by Tripleshot's Cycling BC insurance policy. You choose to participate at your own risk. Please be aware of changing conditions and ride safely at all times.
See you on Spond at 0700 on Sunday, and GOOD LUCK!
