3 Ferry Ride.....again....
Posted: Mon Aug 10, 2020 2:44 pm
Well yesterday's ride was a great success with lots of fun had by all. Quite a few first timers on the ride but they seemed to end the day with a smile (and a beer)
As promised, we will run this ride again with the next date to be Sunday, September 13. Assuming we have 20 - 30 riders, we will run it just like this past weekend; with a driver (me) and a picnic lunch. The first spots will be open to those who weren't able to join in yesterday; so please let people sign up before registering for your 2nd trip.
Here’s how the day will look….
There will be the usual Spond sign up (available soon with slowest groups leaving first) and we will roll out in staggered groups from Cook St Starbucks at 7:00. We will then catch the 9:00 ferry to Salt Spring. There are no special restrictions limiting the number of cyclists on the ferry, but everyone must have a mask and wear it if they cannot keep 2 meters apart. Each Spond leader needs to purchase the ferry tickets for all members in a group and the club will reimburse them.
We will roll thru Ganges and at the turnoff to the Vesuvius ferry, there is a park where we can meet and have lunch. There are washroom facilities there. The Vesuvius ferry is at 12:05 and the Mill Bay sailings are at 3:00 (or 4:10 if you miss that one)
Everyone can bring their lunch to the start and I will collect them and meet you at the park on SSI with extra gatorade, water and some covid friendly snacks. (please pack your lunch in something that is disposable - or that you will carry after Ganges - as I will not be with you after that point)
Please add your name if you are interested in joining so I can get an idea of the amount of interest for the ride and how many Spond groups to set up.
