Tripleshot CrossFondo Cheque Presentation THIS Saturday, Jan 11
Posted: Wed Jan 08, 2020 10:24 am
The 2019 TS CrossFondo is sharing its proceeds to support safe and active routes to school in Central Saanich and we invite you to join us at the cheque presentation is THIS Saturday, Jan 11 at 10 a.m.
A $3000 cheque from the proceeds of the 4th annual Tripleshot CrossFondo will be presented to the South Vancouver Island Nature Trails Society to work with public and private landowners in support of the development of trails to Central Saanich schools.
WHEN: Saturday, January 11 at 10:00 am
WHERE: Willow Way multi-purpose trail, Central Saanich
https://goo.gl/maps/66KamB4gDt3rWW489 There is limited parking on Willow Way, and extra parking on Kersey Rd. There will be some bike parking on site.
The 2019 Tripleshot CrossFondo route received accolades from the nearly 300 participants, much of which was made possible by private land owners and public land managers in Saanich, the Highlands, and Central Saanich giving one-day permission for the event to pass through their property. When the event requested permission, it committed to landowners, race participants and sponsors that it would give back to their community and chose to support the active school travel planning initiative. This initiative will build upon the CRD’s “Ready, Set Roll” Active School Travel Planning that several Central Saanich schools are currently involved with.
Attending will be Tripleshot youth program riders and club volunteers and coaches, Central Saanich councillor Zeb King, Central Saanich safe and active routes to school advocate Megan Misovic, and we've also invited the host landowners and participants of the 2019 Tripleshot CrossFondo.
Thanks to the participants, sponsors, volunteers and landowners who helped with such a successful event in 2019, and if you're in the 'hood this Saturday, drop by and say hi!
