Friday, Sep 13 - Ambassadors Ride

Hey Folks, let's get this ride going!! I propose we string the following three neighborhoods together and end up in a centrally located coffee shop that isn't too far from most people's work.
UVic - Rolf
Gordon Head - L3/Greg
Cordova Bay/Broadmead/cemetary - L3
If different neighbourhoods make sense, by all means propose it. These seem like they will connect reasonably well. And if you are in the hot seat, please reply so we know you plan to attend. We'll need to establish a meeting point and the final destination. Some cafe ideas are:
Olive Olio in Cadboro Bay
Township Coffee in Gordon Head
The Coffee Project at The Root Cellar (Mckenzie/Blenkinsop)

Woohoo! I love the Ambassadors idea.
I vote for the Root Cellar.

Rolf, I love that you love this idea.
Assuming the route of UVic -> Gordon Head -> Cordova Bay -> Red Barn Coffee Project can be done in 1.5hrs, shall we meet in front of Misto Cafe on Foul Bay at 6:00am? L3/Greg, since y'all are also in the hot seat with Rolf, does this work for you?

Alert! Greg and L3 are not available this Friday. Need to change neighbourhoods...
Maybe best to have people post if they are riding and then we can pick neighbourhoods based on that. Post away!

Ron, I’m planning to be there but will not be much help as an ambassador...

Hey Ron, not a ton of pickup on here. There are plenty of usual crossers who don't linger on the forum quite as much as we do,
and who will likely assume the usual Friday OBHS start. Shall we stick to the usual meetup plan? (Café Misto would only be just around the corner, anyway.)
As for route, I've been cooking up a new explore of the UVic campus, but I note that with Alan, John, and the Penkell-Fennmans out of action, we don't have too many other volunteer tour guides on hand. Hopefully Dolly or Lackner/Jess show up and we can maybe return towards Shoal Pt. through their territories (Camosun and Hillside/Quadra)?
Also: yay rain!

I'm riding tomorrow.... I've been working on some trails at Harling point, and at BHP. Not quite ready to lead though... I'll get there and put my name down soon.

Indeed, the crickets are deafening!! 6:00am meet-up at OBH sounds good. See you then.

P.S. I found some neat little trails around little Johnny Tyres new office. Worth a check if we are around Haro woods...

It was a treat to follow the whims of others! It was exciting to try Dave's BHP rock-roll. If I hadn't been fully awake by then, I surely was at the bottom of it!
And thank you, Dolly, for sharing a fun route through Oak Bay and the Saanich panhandle! Doing that little bit of planning in advance really helps keep things flowing.
Right, Todd?

As for this nonsense: BOSH, I say! You've created something golden here, Ron.
Confucious says: forum activity is never a good proxy for social dynamics IRL. Right, Johnny Tyre?
