After all this fun technical single track I plan on tracking Willis Pt and heading all the way down Mckenzie Bight trail just to come back up. I'll post a more detailed ride plan soon if anyone wants to suffer with me. Alternative plans welcome.

Hey Ron
I won’t be able to join but take a quick look at the Ironman course to make sure your route doesn’t cross theirs - early on there’s gaps then it quickly becomes quite a torrent of aerodynamic carbon to cross.
(the other “cross”)

Thanks for the tip Greg. I have a "finely crafted" ride planned:

I'll check it against the Ironman course (I had no idea!!)

Looks like the collisions should be minimal, since the Ironman starts at 10:00am. But I'll shove off at 6:30am as this is a longer ride too. Post if you wanna come!

Have the good ride!

I'd talk you out of that paddle too...

Based on a hunch, I’d talk you out of paddling from North Pender to South Pender.

Rolf, I hope that A, they talked you of that, or B you did it and have a hell of a story to tell.
Greg, you were right about the Ironman. A few times I waited for the wall of carbon to pass. At one time I cycled with some of them and had photos taken of me.
