How can you be dropped twice? The first drop can't have been a proper one ...

Peter saved me. Dragged me back to the group just so I could be dropped again.

great ride gang. I left before I could hear how the sprint ended. I tried to lead out the Moose and by the hooting and honking I think he made it.

I cant seem to get the player to work on the internet garmin site. Any ideas guys?

my stats are here: http://connect.garmin.com/splits/24082768

180k avg 32.4. I REALLY need to lie down!

See you all Tuesday

Ya, thanks Pete - I did manage to keep it together for the win. And I must say - that was a very long and kick-ass lead out, so thanks for that!

I'm not honestly to sure on how it unfolded after I went by you - I took you advice and decided not to bother looking back to see who was about to beat me, and just kept head down to the line.

But Josh and Bill were right there after I hit the line and I think if the line had been any further away, they would have stormed by me.

Awesome, awesome ride guys! Fantastic weather, beautiful sunrise coming into Sidney (yes, Peter, it was distracting for me) - couldn't have been any better.

Except for the broken chain on the ride to Starbucks. Ya, that part sucked.
@#$& this 'work' stuff, I think I'll just go pro...

Well I had a good ride, though mostly off on my own toodling around Central Saanich. As we turned onto the Highway, I was at the back with Peter and Lister. Then Lister said he was done and Peter shamed me into stopping to pick-Lister Up (which was good because I was going to be dropped anyways) but lo and behold Lister must be part wizard becuse he had vanished from sight (I think a bit of Cyclocross kicked in) By the time I figured this out and tried to rejoin the fast train there was absolutely no hope for poor little old me wathcing the little red lights fade into the distance (all that could be heard were quiet peals of mocking laughter from up the road - very sad actually).

So, there I was in the wilds of Sidney, watching for cougars and listening for Banjo music while I crossed the highway at the Airport and followed the usual route expecting to be picked up for 2 or 3 minutes by the Peninsula gang. It turns out I averaged 32 from Cook street to Fantastico - who knew the summer bike would be so dreamy!

Well after finishing my tea at Fantastico I was about to leave when the group shows up - not prepared to be dropped again I stuck in the group for a second [place] Tea!

I am off to the Cedar 12k on Sunday if anyone is interested in their legs practicing linear rather than rotational movement...See you Tuesday.

now the greatest thing about a solo slog up and over the 'hat is that when you are on your own, you don't get dropped, but on the other hand there is no one to drag you along. Just me and my HR monitor. Now if I could only remember to hit "stop" on my ipod so it doesn't look like I spent 4-5 hours on this ride.

Yeah, such a wizard I turned myself into lactate vapour...

Actually, I did a u turn on the shoulder and rode back to island view against traffic hoping my light didn't blind someone into driving toward the light. Pounded home in 39 x 16 and bravely fought off the dogwalkers and grannies on folding bikes along lochside. Heroically kept moving all the way up the vicious Col de Johnson street.

Thanks for trying though Mike! (God I hope there is an explanation for snailing like this, or I may be forced to buy a new bike before Alec notices and comes out to remind me he can drop me too.)

I just spent Saturday doing squares with my legs. Does that count? Good luck to you though!
