CCW Big Loop Ride • Saturday, Aug 11
Posted: Tue Aug 07, 2018 10:59 am
This Saturday, a few Tripleshot folks are going to ride the Big Loop route in reverse, starting with the blasted Malahat and finishing off on the Sooke side of things. Our loose goal is to keep the average over 30 km/h. The pace will be steady and vigorous but by no means sufferfesty.
If you're game for spending nine hours in the saddle, come along for the ride! All the pertinent details (provided by Claire) are below.
Currently confirmed: me, Claire, Ritchie Hughes and Steve Skrobek.

Hi cycling friends. A few things:
Please reply here if you plan to do this ride so we’ll know to wait if you’re running late.
The plan: Meet at Alpha Sbux for a 0545 departure – arrive a bit early if you need caffeination. Plan for a coffee stop in Duncan at Coffee on the Moon (501 Canada Ave — opens at 7:30 and run by a cyclist!). Stop again for lunch/snacks or whatnot either in Lk Cow (more options) or Renfrew (more likely to need it by then), depending on the will of the group.
The format: A single no-drop group (subject to revision if/as warranted). If we split apart, let’s regroup at the tops of the major climbs unless otherwise discussed.
The end: I imagine we’ll be done between 4 and 5. If anyone is free for dinner, it might be fun to go out as a group for burgers or something. Keep it in mind.
