Sunday, August 5 - Alpha SB, ECXtented CX Adventure #2

After checking out Hazlitt Creek area for cx riding, I've come up with a couple of routes to ride on Sunday to incorporate this area.
Here's a link to my strava activity of the Hazlitt Cr area:
https://www.strava.com/activities/1738734669

I was thinking we could start the ride at 7am from Alpha SB (a little sleep in for some that usually start at 6am :) ).
We could start a bit earlier (6:30) if everyone would prefer.
And of course there'll be a coffee stop after the ride.

or

https://www.strava.com/routes/14673958

Both routes are similar in distance and elevation.

** There's a slight revision on both these routes...instead of riding the gravel road from end of Lost Lake Rd to Bellamy trail, we'd do Electric Light trail that joins Bellamy and Lost Lake Rd (strava didn't recognize the trail so it wouldn't use the trail when I created the route). Electric Light trail will be more fun that riding the gravel road. Electric Light trail is different than Electric Ave trail which I think is too technical for cx bikes.

That route, ridden with Garth and Ann both, is going to be fun, fun, fun!!

I predict lots of takers but unfortunately I can't be one of them. I'll be out-of-town. Please post plenty of pics, and say that 10 times :).

Ooo.. these both look tasty, Garth!

I look forward to doing the one you didn’t get to when I’m back next week. Happy trails!

Would everyone that's doing the cx ride be ok to start at 7:30am from Alpha SB instead of 7am?

Someone pick a start time please.

Although Id rather not get my new orange and blue RidleyCX bike even Dusty ...I may do this adventure.
Give me 2. strong coffee after Being my L.O.M. in B2 sprint and I will probably. I will t.t. some of you at Friday coffee.

P.S. note to self: Ask one of the 3 Stooges Outlaw CX clique to show me how to do those silly GIFFs

Hey Garth, is it possible to complete this ride on my road gravel adventure bike (the only bike I have with me in Canada at the moment) with: lowest gear -34 x 25, and road pedals / road shoes?

Steven,
There are some steep pitches (15-20% grades) and possibly some walking over a few technical areas.
Not sure I would want to do the ride with road shoes and 34x25 gearing, but you might be more hardcore than me :D

Sounds like meeting at 7:30 works, see everyone at Alpha SB Sunday morning for some cx adventures!
