Hi there,
I'm new,
I was hoping to come out to a weekday morning Triple Shot ride probably B or C group to try it out but I only have a TT bike. Is this ok to ride as ling as I don't ride in The TT position?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,
It depends on how comfortable you feel in a group on a TT bike. I would generally say it wouldnt be a good idea as you need to be fairly nimble feathering brakes, stopping and maneuvering in a big group ride.
Its not ideal and you definitely shouldnt ride in TT position in a group.
People have ridden on TT bikes in the past, but generally just have clip on aero bars and ride on the hoods. Which is slightly different to a full blown TT bike.
If you are new to group riding, I would say no.
If you only have a TT bike, Perhaps come to the UVIC TTT on Thursday at 6am- you can meet some club members there and because its a closed course with minimal corners etc. One of the groups may be happy for you to either sit in at the back or take turns.
Other may have a different view.
Regards,
Craig

Here is a recent discussion about the use of TT bikes at Thursday's Team Time Trial ride:

Chris,
Come to the ride. Please.
We are all (obviously) concerned about safety but at the same time this club is 100% about inclusivity- so come out.
That may mean you need to be sitting in a very non tt position but that’s totally ok. Be smart. Be safe. But most of all be welcome.
I’d love to ride with you (unless you are crazy fast, in which case you are a bad, bad person - Just kidding). But please come out.
Peter

The question got two opposite answers. Both have great rationales - safety and inclusivity, which are both critical parts of Tripleshot. Perhaps this is something that needs to go back to the board to discuss and make a concrete decision and put in the ride information section. With Tripleshot growing so much, this question will likely be asked again.
