The schedule has been amended based on comments received. The one date that may still change is the date for our the "3 Ferry ride" scheduled for Sunday 27th May. This is the same day Pro City have their "3 Ferry ride" scheduled. Can we ride the same day or should we move or date to Sunday 20th May or even Monday 21st May (Victoria Day holiday)?

A rumble with Pro City would be good but at least two of us are unavailable on May 27th. +2 for May 20th or 21st (I think).

I'm gonna go for the other side. We have booked a sitter for May 27 so we can actually go together and it doesn't happen very often so would really prefer to keep the date. Our sitter moves back to Ontario two weeks later (just to make you all feel even more sorry for us).

I don't think we should change it b/c of ProCity's schedule. Why don't we just adjust timing accordingly so we all aren't on the same ferry schedule - or go the other direction? Having never done this ride before, I'm not really sure if these are helpful suggestions or not but since it seems anyone vocal (other than John who is proposing to change the date b/c of running event..... ) would prefer it not to be the long weekend in May.

p.s. Seriously though, best to stay with the original date of May 27. I don't see the ProCity dudes getting in the way.

The Sydney Velo TT's start this Tuesday, May 1st. Be sure to check their website for rules. No parking allowed at Sy Hampton park and other details ...

Below is the notice from organizer, Larry Pommen.

The 39th season of the Sidney Velo Time Trials will start on Tuesday, May 1st and run every Tuesday for 18 nights, ending on August 28th , at Cy Hampson Park on Lochside Drive in North Saanich. Sign-on starts at 6 PM with racing at 7 PM (6:30 PM for August 21 and 28). Fees are $5 per ride of $50 for the season. and you must show a 2018 BC Ride, BC Race, or UCI Race licence at your first time trial of the season – no licence, no ride. Go to the Cycling BC website: www.cyclingbc.net to buy one of these, we don’t sell them at the time trial.

A Parental Consent Waiver is required for U18 riders as per Cycling BC best practices. Download one from the www.sidneyvelo.ca home page, have it signed by your parent or guardian, and bring it to your first time trial of the season. No waiver, no ride.

The parking ban for the two Cy Hampson Park parking lots remains in effect for riders arriving by motor vehicle. Park at one of the following places and ride your bike to the start/finish:

· Lochside Drive 400 m north of Cy Hampson Park on the east side at the S-curve.
· Amity Drive 700 m south of Cy Hampson Park.
· McTavish Interchange park & ride lot on the west side of Hwy 17 with bike bridge to the time trial course (1 km north of Cy Hampson).
· Lochside Frontage Road east of the McTavish Interchange (1 km north of Cy Hampson).
· Lochside Drive waterfront parking lots 2 km north of Cy Hampson.
· Newman Park parking lot on the east side of Lochside Drive 2 km south of Cy Hampson.

The Victoria Cycling League nights are May 15, June 12, and July 10 and are usually the busiest nights of the season, and you may want to ride on some of the other nights to avoid long waits.

Finally, the Time Trial Rules are here: http://sidneyvelo.ca/rules/. Please read them over before your first time trial, so we won’t have to disqualify you for breaking them, and we can continue to hold this event on public roads for many years to come.
