Kit Try-On event this Saturday (Feb 17) Oak Bay Rec

Post by mfarnham »

Hi folks,

I've booked a room at Oak Bay Rec for this Saturday Feb 17 from 11am-2pm, so that people can come try on various items of Jakroo clothing that will make up the kit options when the store opens. Note that the kit provided for try-on will not be our new kit, so you won't see the new design by attending this. But it's a good way to make sure you don't waste money by getting sizing wrong.

We'll have change rooms and cookies, coffee, and tea for those who come.

Note that ProCity and some other shops in town carry Jakroo kit, so if you can't make this event there are other chances to try on Jakroo kit before you order.

The online store for our new kit order will open within the next week. So time to think about what you'll be buying!

Ciao!

Thanks Martin - possible to do an informal fit session later during the week? I’m not one for going to a retailer to try on things and then purchasing elsewhere. Happy to swing by your place or wherever the samples will be ...

If you're willing to organize something for people later in the week, I'm happy to ask to hang onto the kit a bit longer. But I don't have time to organize additional fittings.

Given that most of us can't walk into a bike shop without spending $50, I suspect most shops would be happy to have people trying things on.

Any chance we could set something up at Accent Inns?

Thanks to everyone who put on the kit try on today. It was well worth it and fun to try on some new options...

Thank you Martin and Neil for making the try-on happen.

Mike S. panicking during the change room dismantle — priceless.

An update.

Seems there *may* be an opportunity to have a box of kit sent over by Jakroo in early March (during our online store opening). Russ Hays has kindly offered to host the box (and they have change rooms). Assuming Jakroo will send it, we could have it reside at Russ Hays for a couple days and people could stop by to try stuff on. It probably won't include their whole range of kit, but would have things like jerseys and shorts (from which sizing of other pieces can be inferred).

The kit is currently on tour in Alberta with the Jakroo rep, which is why we couldn't hold onto the stuff beyond last weekend or hold the fitting next weekend. Whether this will work hinges on it getting back from Alberta and over here in time. Patience...and we'll keep you posted.

If this happens I would need someone with a car to deliver the box back to the Post Office so it can get back to Vancouver. And thanks to Lister, for making this arrangement with our friends at Russ Hays.

Ciao!
