Help - Wobbly tire

After resolving a wobbly rear tire problem (side wall gash) on my cross bike I now have the same problem on my front tire (no side wall gash). This started immediately after changing a flat yesterday and persists with a new tube and every other novice manipulation that I can think of. The wheel seems fine. Google and youtube are of no help and I'd rather not schlep my bike down to the shop once again.

Check for a broken or loose spoke. And also check that the tube and tire are seated properly.

Thanks Ann.
Spokes are fine. The tube and tire are not seated properly but I don’t seem to have any control over that. Would you please tell Jill that I need a new carbon cross bike

The problem might have something to do with the fact that the tires are too wide and have too much tread on them!

Tire envy, Kevin?
That’s a pretty bald assertion.
For the real skinny, I turned to the visual record of yesterday’s ride and found this key moment, just before reinflation:
(My professional advice is to just ignore it. You'll get another flat some day and it will resolve itself naturally.)

Do I look impressed by any of this advice?

Have you pumped the tires up to maximum recommended pressure? I find with my cross tires that I like running them at around 45-50psi for rides through Thetis, etc., but that I need to first put them up to 90 before letting pressure out. That seats the bead and eliminates wobble.

Thanks Martin, I’ll give that a try.

+1 to Martin's suggestion. Also, spray the sidewalls (beads) with soapy water to help them seat easier.

John, it's clear to me you've tried everything, so you're only left with one option: Switching sports.
I would suggest that for a man of your physique, your lithe sinewy strength, and your quick witted reflexes, the natural new sport for you should be pro wrestling. Imagine the glory as the wrestler in green.....

The guy in green bears an uncanny resemblance to Peter Lawless.

And I thought my biggest problem was a wobbly tire. Nope, it’s friends making embarrassing moments public, here involving a rug.
Not this kind of rug ...
... but this kind of rug, as in an anniversary gift that is, ...
And Alan, would you mind stepping over to the cyclocross subforum? I’m going to deal with you there at a time of my bidding.

Craig, yes I can see some Peter Lawless there, but with the green man’s moves below I can also see a lot of Alan.
OK, I’ve now gotten Alan back, paid Martin his three gifs, and solved the wobbly tire problem. Checkmate!
Now I'm getting the hell out of this thread!

I love how you started this General Banter thread under a veneer of normalcy, asking a gear question (of all things), pulling everyone in.
And now, less than a day later, you're cackling maniacally as you slam the door on your way out, having helped reduce everything to the usual blend of lunacy and abuse.
Brilliant, really.
