On the scrounge

Post by Dave Spiers »

Hi all, I am a lucky Git and have a trip booked to Maui on Jan 14th. I have borrowed a bike box but as my seat post is not removable I need to get a bigger box. The box I have now is a TYCO and is 28"X45". I will need something at least 32"X45".
Quite happy to pay or trade or?
Anyone have any suggestions? It has been suggested that I use a cardboard box, but I won't do that.

Any held greatly appreciated.
Dave.

Can't help you with the box Dave, but if your unable to find one, I'll be happy to take your Maui tickets off your hands, free of charge.

Hey Dave,

I'm looking at going to the Big Island in February and seeing what options are available for cycling...

I was under the impression that they charge you a small fortune to ship your bike - what have you been quoted for price? I had a look and found that quality bikes are available for about $25 to $40 a day to rent in Maui:

Let me know what you come up with and how the cycling is on the island, Haleakala would be an awesome experience.
