CYCLING BC Board voting- I need your vote!

Hi,
Last year, in large part due to the enthusiastic support of this club, the Wheelers and others in Victoria, I was voted onto the Cycling BC Board. I currently act as the Vice Chair.
Cycling BC has had a fairly turbulent recent past (including a near bankruptcy about 7 years ago) with 3 new Executive Directors and 3 almost entirely different Boards in the last 3 years. As a Board this year, our focus has been to provide some stability to the organizational leadership so that we can move the organization forward in a positive direction. To this end, we hired a new ED who is committed to the organization (and who has roots in Victoria and the GVVA). We also amended the bylaws to create staggered longer terms for Board Directors to encourage some organizational memory. Our focus is now on supporting the new Executive Director so that she can build the organization and develop the capacity of her team to provide improved services to the membership and to develop the sport in BC. I have confidence that, given time, we can develop a world class organization.
Because one of the Board needed to stand down this year to allow for the staggered elections, I volunteered. I am now in an election with 15 others for 5 spots. I really need the club memberships support again to get voted back in. Please consider voting and voting for me to represent the club and the Island on the Board. Please let your friends and colleagues in the other clubs know about this election and encourage them to vote as well.
In addition, because the Island (and anywhere outside of Vancouver) is under represented on the Board, I encouraged Parker Bloom (Stuckylife, Broad street bikes, Cyclocross etc.) to stand for the Board. I believe he would be an excellent choice as he is intimately involved with all branches of cycling and knows more about the Island Cyclocross and MTB scenes than most. He is young and enthusiastic. I would strongly encourage all the members to vote for Parker as well.
Voting opens tomorrow.
