Once again, weather permitting, I'll be leaving Disco Coffee on Menzies at Michigan at 7 AM and heading out along the wf following the usual Sunday route for the most part to Island View then off to Lands End and around and back down for about 90 K. Expect an avg speed of 25 maybe 26 K/Hr so kind of C pass.
Anyone interested in this time, this route https://www.strava.com/routes/7382656 and especially this pace, see you Saturday at 7.
Barton.

Re: Sat Jan 14, If the Weather Cooperates!
Well the weather cooperated, sort of! It was calm, clear, cool with mostly bare frost free roads. There were a couple areas that looked more sketchy than they actually were. We ended up with Alan C, Gerry and me around Island View. By the time we got close to the airport our toes were in distress from the -5 c temp (at least that is what it was according to my Garmin!) We shortcut-ted across the bottom of the airport then down W Saanich Rd and the quickest route home, or rather to Bean Around the World. The temp was -6 along Wallace and -1 in Victoria!
We managed 78 K (coffee shop to coffee shop cause that is how measure right!!) rather than the planned 90. We'll try for 90 again next Saturday. I really hope to be up to 100K by Feb 4 then start adding some solo 5 K tempo sections into the ride. Just for something different. Weather permitting of course!!
Until next week!

It was a great ride, watching the sun rise and the moon set at the same time. Stellar clear light out on the peninsula--a most beautiful clear blue day... Except for the cold feet we could have ridden all day...
