A ride appreciation

One of the under appreciated aspects of our great club is the A (?1) ride:
It is an animal like none other in the club and requires fitness, bike handling and awareness not required in any of the other groups.
The greatest thing about the ride though is the fact that the regulars are so welcoming, tolerant and generally encouraging of the newbies and wannabees who occasionally try stepping out of their comfort zone to challenge the ride. It really makes what is an already intimidating proposition, manageable and possible.
Thanks Trevor, ARuss, Geoff and all the other regulars who put up with folks like myself who scratch around at the back, take short cuts, and generally get in the way. Your tolerance and encouragement is much appreciated.

Cheers for the kind words Craig. More folks should jump in the mix from time to time and give it a go. This "off season" time is perfect as fitness is less sharp and the rides are overall easier than race season. Short cuts, sitting in, and overall getting to know the ride is absolutely encouraged. Just don't feign exhaustion, attack those that have been doing the bulk of the work, and go for the win at Beacon. :D

Thank you Craig ( and Trevor ).... I have to agree that we are lucky to have such a talented group of nice, fast people ...... smiling while they rip your legs off! The standing invitation is much appreciated and be assured that for most of us, the exhaustion will not be feigned. :D
