Saturday C Ride

Just a reminder to anyone looking for company on a Saturday morning ride, there will always (well, almost always!) be a Saturday C ride leaving Disco on Menzies at 7 AM. The route varies; Metchosin East Sooke one week and the Peninsula the next. Pace is Cish! Last couple weeks has been 23.5 K/Hr for 85 K. Just going long and longer each week nice and steady with as little stop time as possible. Hoping to increase the distance by 5 K a week or alternatively increasing the total elevation. And the usual TSC ethos, All Together Now! Always!
We did +-85 K out to Gillespie and around and about. Mikael, John, Carrie, Mary & Jill. Great company and great riding buddies. Mikael and John left us at Happy Valley. Long Slow Distance but still, the legs are tired!
Every Saturday, likely not posting anything, just going!!
Barton.

Epic ride, and the desserts and coffee made it all worthwhile (thanks to Barton and Jill for buying mine). Looking forward to next week.

You are welcome! Good ride!
There was Mary, Mikael, Eric and Roxanne. Mary left us at Mattick's. That is when we started something a bit different. Single line with the four of us. The person on the back watching the clock and after two minutes they zip to the front, tuck in and maintained a nice even pace. Then the next person on the back watches the clock while the lead rider watches the pace, keeping the pace nice and even! After 2 minutes, the rider at the back zips up to the front, tucks in, settles in and maintains the pace, nice and easy! Repeat for the next 2 1/2 hours!
It worked very well. It kept all of us together, nobody on the front long enough to stretch us out or get tired out.
Next Saturday, Metchosin, East Sooke and a few more hills!
General idea is one week increase the distance a bit then the next do the same distance but increase the elevation gain. And get stronger and stronger bit by bit! We will likely keep the distance at or near 100 K till January then start increasing the distance again to get ready for some of those 140 and 160 K fondos or maybe the Seattle to Portland ride? Maybe!
Barton.
