June 19th would make more sense, as that's a Sunday.

June 19, Silly Summer Solstice.
Likely 4:30 AM start so we can be off the circle by 10:30. Things just start to get busy around 9:30.
Is there any interest in going for breakfast after?
I'll post more details later.
Barton.

Are the other dates confirmed for the Big Loop and Mt Washington?

I'm guessing the 19th is not a good day for the Track Day and BBQ given that many will want to do the SSC.
I'm having trouble finding a date that works. Any suggestions? Would July 10th work? That's the next available date.

The VW camper van will be travelling the big loop and providing excellent support on July 17 provided a good number of tripleshot members are cycling.

Eric,
I've registered for LTRide on June 12. How about a Tripleshot event at the track on June 12th?

It's not for nothing that we call it "silly".

I'm having trouble believing that this bit of idiocy has actually become enshrined as an Event.

I just want to remind everyone that this particular bit of idiocy, ie: the Silly Solstice Ride, may have been Simon's idea but Kate was the second one to sign on.
Here's the thread from back in 2013

So, Barton put me up to posting this.
And it's Simon Pearson's idea. So don't come after me if this turns out badly.
Yesterday morning, Simon says to me, he says, "Hey, I'm thinking of celebrating the solstice by doing a century..." I nod. "....by riding around Beacon Hill Park 100 times."
I said, "That's incredibly stupid. I'm in."

Is the Big Loop ride fixed on July 17th?
It's my son's 8th birthday that day and I can't in good conscience take off for the whole day...

I'm not sure if this has been factored into the plans, but Aug 7 is also the date of an official "Ride the Hurricane" event. Roads are closed to traffic from 7-12 (yay!) but it costs $40 (... less yay). I'm not sure if folks can just "ride" that day without officially registering. If not, I'd pay anyway for the pleasure of knowing no cars will be coming toward me through those dark tunnels. On the bright side, they'll be selling registrations right on the 6:10 ferry for Island folks heading over for the day.
I've got a note in to the organizers to ask about "just riding" - sans registering. I'll post a follow-up here if/when I hear back.
Here's the info page for the official event

I am fairly certain that there could be a problem. I have ridden the ride the hurricane event and I had to show my wristband to go up the road.

Yes, Marcus's fear is justified. I just received this from the organizer:
"The road to the ridge will be open only to registered bikers -- and NO CARS -- from 6am to 12pm.
After that it returns to normal.
So if your group wants to ride independently of our event, you'll have to do that in the afternoon.
Just so you know, we are also partnering with the Blackball Ferry out of Victoria for all the Canadians coming over for our event, with the ability to register for Ride the Hurricane and enjoy reduced rates all around.
I'll know more specifics about that deal tomorrow, but you should also know the Ride the Hurricane isn't a race, it is a ride for fun as well.
The benefit of joining our event is you can ride up Hurricane Ridge Road without cars involved.

Thanks much.

Very sorry folks, we cannot get the use of the Velodrome on Sunday the 10th as the infield is now controlled by the rugby club who paid for the turf to be installed. They have a game on, and have it booked. Unfortunately the field and track cannot be used at the same time.
We are working on some other dates, so stay tuned.
Thanks,
Eric
