Monday and Wednesday rides

Post by Stéphane Tran »

Hi all,

I just read about the Prospect Lake ride on Monday mornings: http://www.tripleshotcycling.com/rides/ ... ammerfest/
Is this actually happening? Is there a decent turnout?

Secondly, is anyone doing the Wednesday hill ride these days?

No Monday ride yet. It was waiting for better weather and lighting, I think... It probably will get a more formal kick-off if/when some folks get motivated to make it happen. Or, maybe we'll all continue to enjoy being nice and lazy on Mondays after hammering all week/weekend. But I'm sure *some*one will give it a go one day. Stay tuned.

Wednesdays are sparsely attended but there are always at least a couple of people out there. There's not necessarily a Pareto meet-up, though, as most folks just ride to Caddy Bay from home and start climbing. Lisa Hill is a regular, so you could ask her about it. I don't think she's on the forum much, though.

I rode parts of the planned route a few Monday mornings this spring. It is a great route. Having said that, I was surprised by how much traffic there was on Prospect lake road early in the morning and how fast they drove on that narrow windy road. Maybe that was just my bad luck. Pavement was in good shape except for the short steep hill by the golf course.

The constant up/down and windy (as in lots of curves, not lots of wind), technical nature of Prospect Lake Road makes it well suited to animated/race-y riding. It's a fun route and perfect for cat-and-mouse training drills if you're into that.

I was thinking of riding the Monday ride on the 21st, is anyone else interested?
