...of how much it would suck to live subjected to this kind of rude, castigatory, (never mind unjust) law enforcement. Video embedded in article.
Go Blue! (not the police--the Michigan folks on bicycles)
When my wife and I lived in Ann Arbor (around 2000) we had trouble convincing the Ann Arbor police that the driver of a truck who intentionally swerved at my wife (on her bike) was in the wrong. An Ann Arbor cop said, "Well, there are a lot of bad bicyclists around and so it's understandable that drivers get annoyed. Maybe you should stick to the sidewalks." He was almost as belligerent as the cop in the video.
We got an apology from some police PR person after some city council members got involved, but as far as I could tell, she didn't really mean it.
Ahh....Michigan.
