New for 2016: Tripleshot Monday ride
Posted: Sun Jan 03, 2016 7:05 pm
There's a brand new addition to the list of official/sanctioned/insured Tripleshot rides!
Some of you will remember the ride/route from a few years back, when it was known as "Josh's Thursday Hammerfest." If you're looking for a helluva workout and a good adrenalin rush, you'll love the exhilarating, mildly terrifying thrill-ride through the street-light-less twists and turns of Prospect Lake Road in the dark of early morning.
Full description below.
NB: As the first 20 or so percent of the route is on winding, well-shaded roads and the pace through the bends is brisk, the ride will begin once we're confident the roads are frost-free. Stay tuned.
-----------
Monday Hammerfest: Prospect Lake + Waterfront
Start: 6:00 am @ Alpha Street Starbucks
End: ~7:30 @ Moka House, Shoal Point
Speed: A/B1 pace (average speed 33-36 km/h). The goal is to achieve the fastest possible time while keeping the group together from start to finish. (We highly recommend that you test yourself on a Tuesday or Friday B1 ride before giving this ride a try.)
Route: This is a fast ride with lots of rollers and curves along Prospect Lake Road. After we cross Pat Bay Highway at the 21-km mark, it’s 30 km of rolling pace line along the waterfront to the Shoal Point finish.
Distance: ~51 km
