For all those Festive 500 crazies or if you're looking to burn off the impending Christmas dinner gluttony, there will be a Christmas Day ride following the normal Sunday route. Meeting time will be 6:00am at Fairfield SB . Post ride coffee at Cook st. SB (thanks Paul).

A ride of this magnitude needs a more fitting name. Some initial thoughts:
The Scroogefest
The Prophylactic-2nd-Helping-of-Turkey-Fest
The-I-Have-No-Life-So-I'm-Riding-my-Bike-on-Xmas-Day-Fest
The HTFU-Xmas-is-for-Sissies-Fest
The So-Who's-This-Jesus-Dude-Anyhow? Fest
Naturally, I'm open to other suggestions.

Merry Christmas, Tripleshotters! John, since you mentioned Jesus (and in the hope of igniting some good ol' theological debate):

And naturally, I have one.
I'm inclining to forge a new rule. Let's call it Rule #12/25. Discipline doesn't observe statutory holidays.
As for the Christmas Day ride, I like "But it's Christmas!"-is-the-opiate-of-the-weak-and-indolent-masses-fest.

No anti-Christmas sentiment here. John, you could even dress up for the occasion.

Saw the preview of an extended Public Service Announcement called "Krampus" - a factual documentary on the potential risks to you and your family when you forego merriment and Christmas traditions on 12/25 (or 25/12 for you locals). Ride at your own risk!!
As for me, I'll be screaming carols at the top of my lungs while hugging the Xmas tree and forcing smiles of gratitude upon the kiddo's for their stockings filled high with organic socks and free-range toothbrushes.

Just looked up "Krampus" online and frightened myself a little. Good thing cycling gods are all powerful and despite the looming threat I still cannot forgo the thought of failing to ride when the opportunity presents itself.
