TS Speedway Championship

This emerged from a conversation Andrew A. and I had on the ride today. He was asking about breaking the VCL season into two 'series'. I can talk about that idea with other clubs. The goal would be to give people with a less-than-full-summer-commitment, an opportunity to win something.
It's not the same, but what about a four-race Speedway Championship within the VCL?
I'll try to get four dates, but even if it's the traditional three races, we could give the A, B and C racer who does best over all three races a prize. If we manage a significant prize, we might recoup the cost in increased participation.
A Triple Shot 'Cup' and a $200 cheque? $100 for B and $50 for C.
As I write this it occurs to me that a strength of the VCL has been self-seeding (you can race in whatever category you want - only your reputation was at stake if you belonged in B but killed the C group all season, for example). But, when there's a prize, we might find a few people moving inappropriately .. how to decide? Assuming this can be addressed (e.g., no one drops from the cat. they were in the year before), what do you think?
