This Saturday, 6am ride

Just wanted to let folks know that, even if Strava Steve is too busy cramming for his TedX talk to lead the charge, the ride must go on and it needs more warm bodies. I can promise: dry roads, beautiful sunrise in Sidney, no wind, reasonably strong, steady pace, and a number of guys over 6' tall who make excellent wind breaks.

Warm bodies likely to be there:
me (not tall, sorry)
Andrew N (tall)
Garth (tall)
'merican Greg ;-) (fairly tall)

Warm bodies unconfirmed but with at least 50% chance of appearing:
Rich T (taller than me)
Leftcoaster (tall-ish)
Xtian (taller than me but not very wide)

Cook St Starbucks 6am or anywhere along the route. I usually appear in the Ferndale area around 6:30.

Hey Claire - If I'm only a 50% chance of riding tomorrow and if I suffered last Saturday, does that mean I'm off the hook tomorrow?

By virtue of the fact that you replied, you are now 100%. Thanks!

Greg wants to know what the cut off is for "tall." Seeing as he only made "fairly tall."

Darn, I was worried I might be called on to explain. It was pretty random. Maybe 6' or so...? I am happy to revise if he crosses that threshold. And I'll apologise.

Also: What constitutes "not very wide" ?

And does that make the rest of us wide ..... or ........ not wide?

Just a warm, tall guy

Before you somewhat tall-ish men dissolve into further paroxysms of insecurity, let's not forget that absolute height when fully erect... er, standing upright, doesn't necessarily directly correlate to relative riding height.

Some of us naturally chew the bars, offering little advantage to those behind. Some of us ride like a Norwegian grandmother heading to town to stock up on lutefisk:

Greg is 6'1". Crushed the threshold. For the record. Currently nursing some nasty road rash so I had to stand up for him.

Greg, I hope it is just a mild case of road rash. You seemed fairly nonchalant this morning at 6:15 after just having gone down .... or maybe you're just tough. Take all the TLC you can get from Louise and remember that you aren't over 6' tall if you are sprawled on the road! Good luck with all the moving duties.

That is a stylish grandma! LOVE THE HEELS. If I was able to ride Saturdays I could help by sticking my elbows out..... right Steve? I'm sure that I would be riding in the back though.

Here is photographic evidence of our ridiculous commitment to riding, even when it would be more sensible to be somewhere more warm, less slippery and more daylighty.
