I intend to do this tomorrow - it's the only Saturday ride that works for my schedule this weekend!
I'm just hoping if I put this out there, whoever is doing the ride will notice me riding backwards along the waterfront and yell at me to join in. Does the group actually do a re-group at Matticks, as per the website's description? I will leave Gordon Head around 6 and head around the waterfront, I'm just not sure exactly where I'll intersect with the group - in the dark!

We'll watch for you.
No stop at Mattick's. A brief intermission in Sidney is our only rest stop.

Thanks, Steve. I'll be at the ready for a quick turn-around.
Re: Tomorrow's Sufferfest
I can't make it for the fest tomorrow morning.
Have a great ride!

Claire...it's a shame you turned back. As soon as I hit Land's End, the rain stopped and it was nice riding the rest of the way.

Good job Steve!

Re: Tomorrow's Sufferfest
You're very kind, Steve, but even if your blistering pace had been manageable for me on a dry day, it was just not sustainable to eat your road spray for another 2 hours! I did enjoy the relative dryness for the other 90' of my ride (I didn't quite turn tail and run home, I tacked on a few extra km's to keep a respectable mileage for the day).
I'll be back. With the right bike for the conditions!

Re: Tomorrow's Sufferfest
FYI, coming out again tomorrow. Hoping for dry conditions... The forecast seems to have deteriorated somewhat. See you somewhere between Mt Doug and Caddy Bay, most likely.
