Blues Bash--Victoria--September 5th.

We're very lucky that this year's Victoria's Blues Bash managed to snag the 24th Street Wailers, a honking awesome blues band from Toronto.

I've seen these guys on the island three times now, and I can guarantee it's going to be a sellout crowd on September 5th. Their saxophonist, Johnny Wong, is probably one of the best blues sax players in Canada and the lead singer is the drummer Lindsay Beaver (I'm not making this up) who's got a wild head of shocking red hair and set of pipes that never end. As she sings: "I'm the kinda woman that'd bring a man to his knees...."
They're a bunch of kids that met in university and decided being in a blues band was better than studying music. Lucky for us:
