I’ve only been out for a couple rides with you guys so far, mainly because I’ve been spending most my free moments organizing a large cycling fundraiser for hospice care on Vancouver Island. My riding has been bumped to 2nd fiddle.
The event, Cycle of Life Tour is a 2-day 200km group ride with an overnight stay on SSI, and is happening this weekend. I’ve had a few key volunteers cancel on us just today and we’re in a bind and need some extra help.
All the shorter (3-4 hours) volunteer roles that happen throughout the weekend are covered, what I need is a couple people that can come out for the whole weekend. You’ll be fed, given some provisions in the beer/wine/cider gardens, there is live entertainment, you only need to bring a tent to sleep in.
The two main roles we need filled is the driver of one of our support cars, and another person to help set-up the venue on SSI. In both situation, we have all your transportation taken care of. You would start on Saturday AM at around 7-7:30am (I’m sorry about that part), and be finished at 5pm on Sunday. Your jobs do not have you working the whole time, and you’ll have lots of down time in the afternoon/evening on Saturday. There is also a volunteer thank you party at our house on Sunday night where we’ll continue to feed you and ply you with beer.
If none of you are able to come, maybe you might have a friend that is always doing stuff like this and you might be able to pass the word along. Thanks of your help.
