We will have an event page up here with more info to come. For up-to-date information, please visit our Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/513106895509629/

Date:
Sunday July 26th

Meet:
The Trek Store (338 Catherine Street in Vic West) between 8-9:30AM. There will be different start times for different pace/speeds – see “Groups and Pace” below for a description of paces and start times.

Cost:
$20. Includes post-ride BBQ and beverages and some sweet ride swag!

Insurance:
This is a group ride offered by the Pro City Racing Club in partnership with Broadstreet Cycles and Performance Cycles. All participants MUST have a cycling BC provincial license. These can be purchased here for $45: http://cyclingbc.net/membership/types-registration/
***If you are participating in club rides around Victoria you are required to hold this licence for insurance purposes!***

Note that the turn around time for Cycling BC issuing licences can vary, so the earlier you can get this sorted the better. You can also bring a print out of your license confirmation or licence number from Cycling BC, so don’t worry if the physical license doesn’t come in time.

Registration:
Please email Denise at deniselmahon@hotmail.com to pre-register. We will also offer pre-ride registration at the Trek Bicycle Store 338 Catherine St. Day of registration may be busy, so save some stress and register early.

Course:
The course will be 3 loops, all at or around 33km each. You can do one, two, or all three loops (obviously we encourage you to do all 3!). The loops are as follows:

Loop 1: Approx. 30km. Leave Trek Pro City, ride around waterfront to Gordon Head. Cross Feltham to Lochside, and head to Switch Bridge for your first checkpoint. Map: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/7144816

Loop 2: Approx. 35km Leaving Switch Bridge, head out to Durrance Lake via Prospect Lake. Checkpoint at Durrance Lake parking lot. Return to Switch Bridge via West Saanich and Interurban for 3rd checkpoint. Map: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/7144724

Loop 3: Approx. 30km Leave Switch Bridge, head back up Interurban, right onto Sparton and around Elk Lake. Return to Trek Pro City via Lochside trail. Done! Map: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/7144729

Groups and Pace:
We will split riders up into groups of 8-12 based on their pace and expected completion time. All rides will have a ride leader to guide them through the 3 loops and safely back to the BBQ at the end. All rides should meet at the BBQ between 12:30-1:00PM.

Group 1: Pace between 20-24kmph. Depart at 8:30AM. Expected ride time: 4-5hours.

Group 2: Pace between 24-28kmph. Depart at 9:00AM. Expected ride time: 3.5-4 hours

Group 3: Pace over 28kmph. Depart at 9:30AM. Expected ride time 3-3.5 hours

Other ride info:
• This is a group ride, geared to all cycling abilities. Riders should know their fitness and cycling abilities, and self-seed themselves into a group which best matches a pace which will be comfortable for the ride.
• Riders are expected to have some group ride experience, but please let your ride leader know if you need a refresher/some tips.
• Road bikes are best suited to this kind of ride.
• We are working on having some refreshments at the checkpoints, but please come prepared with your own food & water (FYI Switch Bridge has a water fountain, which you will stop at twice on the ride).
• Prizes and swag to follow at the BBQ!

Hope to see you out there!
