A kinder, gentler, longer, more civilized Sunday Social

Throwing this out there.
This is totally self-serving, as I am ramping up my weekend ride in preparation of the Whistler Gran Fondo, but anyone is more than welcome to join.
I was thinking 85ish km this Sunday, and 100ish km next Sunday.

Option 1: Normal Sunday route but take a righthand turn onto Lochside, after Island View out-and-back, and head up around the airport someplace (further up to Lands End next Sunday). Then over to West Saanich and back to town after that.
Option 2: Normal Sunday route but tack on a Waterfront section at the end.
Option 3: I'm open to suggestions.

My plan is to go SLOW (25-27km/hr) as I am heading into unknown territory for me.
As always, any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Mark

Well, except for a bit of drizzle and some minor crank issues, last Sunday went fairly well. I felt great after the ride but my legs were DEAD yesterday.
Thank you to Neil and Ryan for telling the rest of the group that I was peeling off at Lochside after Island View Beach.

Due to the promising result, I am sticking with the plan and bumping it up to Lands End next Sunday. I am not sure of the exact distance but it appears to be around 100K if I start and end in James Bay. If someone knows, please chime in, it would be much appreciated.

I averaged a tad over 27Km/h last Sunday. Assuming faster during the group portion and slower during the solo portion. I plan to hit the same pace next Sunday.

Anyone who has the inclination, is more than welcome to join.
