The youth team program continued for 2015 with the first ride of the new year Tuesday evening. 16 riders aged 10- 16 took part, with two parents riding sweep.
There are 5 sessions a week, including 2 gym sessions, 2 night cross rides and 1 MTB and cross ride.
The winter program continues until daylight savings starts March 9, when there's enough light for road rides after school.
Monthly fees remain $75 per month until March 9, when likely a new seasonal fee will likely be implemented under the global relay sponsorship, to emphasize continuity and progression vs a drop in approach.
The winter program aims at core strength, basic bike handling skills, and general endurance, with more intense efforts periodically as a base for more specific training in March.
The first important race of the year will be the Escape Velocity sprig stage race March 28-29, a selection event for the older riders towards western canada games. Then Race the Ridge, April 25-26.
New riders welcome anytime.
