What happened to our exec conversation with the Oak Bay PD about our 2-up riding that we got into trouble for a few Sundays ago?

It's my opinion that we should not have that conversation. The status quo works for the most part - police ride two-up during their charity rides and they let us do the same, with a few (in the case of that Sunday ride) understandable exceptions.

Let's leave it be.

Agreed...which is why we did not pursue a conversation with the OBP. My sense of things is that the police are generally happy to turn a blind eye to 2-up riding so long as we don't give them a reason to do otherwise.

They do have to respond to citizen complaints however, and my guess is that may have been what the officer was doing two Sundays back: someobody complains about us riding 2-up, the police respond and tell us to single up, we do so, and they can then truthfully report back that the complaint has been dealt with.
