Hi,
I am considering purchasing a Cyclocross bike both to race and commute. Does anyone have, know or advise where I can get a good deal. (Limited budget)
cheers,
POC.

OBB has some Ridley X-Fires from last season for some smoking prices. Not sure about sizing though. Worth checking out.

For a cross bike for both racing and commuting suggests you want fenders, and need to be able to take them off for races. Many race cross bikes don't have fender attachment points. They can be fitted with fenders fairly easily, with zipties etc. But not so easy to remove and replace unless you buy zipties in bulk. Ridley xbows have mounts, xfires don't. Cruxs don't either.
Trek and Norco put fender mounts on all their cross bikes now. Trek via a clever removable eyelet so you can look pro and fender up easily. Kinda cool to think top pros Sven Nys and Katie Comptons bikes could have fenders for the local group ride Monday after racing eh?
Norco's decision to put them on their bikes was prompted, at least partly, by Norco sponsored rider Tom Skinner (Vic Wheelers, TS rider, crossclub organizer, and antidoping activist). So thank him when you see him. For all those things.

I bought one in 2012. It's a trek XO white matte with blue, fenders on up to group ride standards. Aluminum frame all 105 it's a 52cm.
Are you interested or are you already on one?
