Re: Tour of Alberta
Looked miserable today.
Six laps of Lethbridge. Woohoo. Why, in this vast, gorgeous country of ours, does Canada's highest UCI-sanctioned stage race seem so aesthetically unappealing—when compared to Europe, or even Colorado? Imagine what a "Tour of British Columbia" could look like?
With the Rockies right there, I'm surprised they don't have any proper mountain stages. But I guess the race is a new phenomenon and depends heavily on community support etc. etc. It's a shame only 5 World Tour teams showed up. (Maybe a result of last year's flood-ravaged route changes, and amateur-hour antics?)
Good luck to Adam, Nic, Rob and any other locals...

What struck me was how the other pictures on that same page highlight how lucky we are to be able to live in Canada and ride fancy bikes.

Great shot of Calgary native and part-time Victorian Nic Hamilton drilling it in the TT, complete with road art...
